In November 2019 Marije Balt delivered a PPP workshop in Hargeisa, Somaliland for VNG. This was in the framework of the EU-funded Advancing Strong Partnerships for Inclusive and Resilient Economic Development (ASPIRE) & Dutch-funded Inclusive Decisions at Local Level (IDEAL). The workshop was organized by VNG International with the Association of Local Government Authorities of Somaliland (ALGASL).
The aim of this workshop was to introduce Public Private Partnerships as a means to promote and stimulate Local Economic Development in Somaliland. Local government officials of four districts (Berbera, Baligubadle, Zeila and Lasanod) participated, as well as representatives from the Ministries of Investment and Interior.
